Happy Chinese New Year people!
Yes, the very busy and lazy blogger is back. Ready to dissect what could possibly her last CNY in Kuching for the next four or five years. Hopefully.
This year was not that different compared to previous years. It was however, a lot more mellowed and less hustle than last year.

I arrived in Kuching on Saturday. Met a certain sweetheart at the airport who saved his pack of Rocher for me because he knew that I was not getting any food on Air Asia *cue awwwwwwwww* hehe
I made it back for reunion dinner and the food was yumms.
Left to right: Mama's chicken pie, Mimi's mee, Sibu tu kah, Mama's veg, and Mama's ngo hiang especially requested by me :p
Pa digging into the tu kah. We are a pork loving family haha
Owh yea I feel so blessed. I do believe that when it comes to reunion dinners such as this, the best place for a nice family meal is at home cooked by your loved ones, not at a crowded and rowdy restaurant that overcharges you just because it is a festive season. Hehe what better way to come back home and be welcomed with a hearty meal :)
First day of CNY was the same as usual, just like what we have been doing for years now. A cycle that we never break. Simple, but a rather nice one, I must add.
Our first order of business:
The family portrait.
The giving of ang paos.
Going over to my grandma's house for another round of family portrait
More ang paos given out again.
Eat mee sua for breakfast.
Then lunch.
Bottom to top: Maa's curry, roast duck, Mimi's salad topped with Dimong clan's secret salad dressing recipe, and pork ribs
And after that, we terrorize our relatives' houses.
This year, Kuku came back all the way from KK to join us for CNY. But all of my cousins did not :(
Valentines Day coincided with the first day of CNY. This is Kuku's valentine flowers

Everyone is a joker in the family. Haha
On the second day of
This year, not many people showed up. So it was not as rushed as before. But nevertheless, it was still crowded at my crib.
My brother and I even got some of our friends to show up. Well, credits to my brother for being more happening than me. He had a total of 6 friends that came over, while I only had Joe and Yee Shien. Haha
In the evening, Brother and I took a stroll to Taman Sahabat to walk off the fat that we have consumed for the past few days.
Brother said something that really changed my perception about how "nice" it was to get sprinkled by the fountain.
Imagine fish poo and other nonsense shooting right out of that thing, and droplets of those landing on any part of your body. Eew...
Thanks a lot Brother...
Third day of CNY was my happening day. Hehe
I kick started my day with a visit to Yee Shien's new crib with Joe and Fiona. The really big one by the side of the road near my house.
It.is.such.a.huge.and.totally.nice.house!!!!
For security reasons, I shall not give away details or display any pictures of her house.
I love her house. I think the entire College United Zone can sleep over at her place. Hehe
Next, we crashed Joe's place, followed by Fiona's where the naughty Ah-Boy was there to bully poor Yee Shien.
As planned, I joined my former high school mates for many rounds of visiting, just like what we did last year. It was really nice to see them again.
They kept going after 5pm when I left them to send Mei Fang back home. I would have stayed on, but I felt lazy. Plus I had other plans. Hehe have you watched Valentine's Day? Its funny. And a major bonus is you get to see Taylor Swift act like the total bimbo you imagined she would be!
My Valentine's dinner came late. A few days late. This was on the fourth day of CNY.
Joe's first time in Bing!
My mother said that I am a bad influence on him. I am teaching him to be "bad". By showing him the finer things in life that costs a lot of money! Hahaha
No beef lasagna though. I have concluded that the lasagna is definitely better than the panini, and a lot more worth it. And the IB caramel is also better than the IB Choco mint. Sorry Suria.
Thanks to Syhu for teaching me to make kek batik last month. Joe and I tried our luck in making it on the fifth day of CNY.
Girls, here is a tip for you. Next time do not shoo your guy away from the kitchen. Put them to good use! Make them stir the stuff and do other things that you do not want to do so that you can play around and get things done without breaking a sweat :D
Haha our milo layer was abit too thick. Thanks to a certain someone who threw the whole chunk of butter in instead of adding it in slowly bit by bit...
This year was fun. It might be my last CNY in Kuching for the next few years to come. Hopefully I will be in USA around this time next year.
I am going back to KL next Monday. Skipping one day of class simply because the flight ticket is cheaper on that day. Self-declared holiday :D
Till then, happy CNY peeps :)
