KDU Is Not Cheap

Last Friday was a rather memorable day for most of us in KDU. I will give you two reasons.

One.
We had our very last English class with Ms Hema!

When we started our first semester, we were forced told to take A-Levels English Literature instead of Thinking Skills like our seniors. But after our first class test, we protested. Most of us failed the exam. Including yours truly!

So our kind sponsors allowed us to change English Literature to Academic English, internal class.

Academic English is super boring to the max. One presentation after another. But I rather go through that notion than to take English Literature exams that comes from Cambridge...

Our last assignment was to do a seminar presentation. Nipa, June and I joined forces to present the whole class a seminar on vampires.
Vampires? Twilight craze???
Haha well actually no. I was feeling awfully random when we were brainstorming on ideas, and I came up with History of Vampires. And even Ms Hema approved. So why not right? hehe
I am pretty glad we were the second group to go up there a few weeks ago because she was relatively merciful to the first two groups. Guinea pigs mah. So pressure was on the following groups to perform and not repeat our mistakes.

So yea, we were pretty laid back. We never practised. Haha whatever :P

Vampire people!

Finally, we finished our term, and our last class with the lovely Ms Hema ended with smiling faces.

Two.
We had KDU's first ever award presentation for excellent achievements in A-Levels.

Wheee :)

As long as you managed to bag an A for the November exam last year, then you are totally eligible to receive one of these :

Hi mummy aren't you proud of me? hehehe

The more A's you get, the bigger is the plaque.
I got this one for my A in Physics. FINALLY! Ugh, Cambridge you are seriously playing me. I did not manage to get an A for Chemistry, but I do not really care haha :p

I have to admit, I was quite surprised that KDU gave us such nice and expensive looking things :)

And yes, they gave out a lot.

Thanks KDU :)

This ceremony was an opportunity to see our 1.5 years classmates again.

And most importantly, it was another opportunity to do this :

With some of our lecturers :)

Yank!!!

Arsenal bra! No wonder Alep looks so terharu

My butt... Damn, Wadhi you super hamsap! Haha

Forbidden love!

Yea my camera battery was "flatting" halfway through. So I did not manage to take alot of pictures.

Plus that is all that I am rajin enough to upload. Hehe

Coming up next, our lovely candid shots!

Stay tuned :)

Latest Addition to the Family

After class on Monday, I was laying in bed, happily chatting away on the phone until my roommate came home from Tropicana Mall.

She shoved something into my face.

Two living things to be precise.

Two tiny green hard-shelled tortoises that Abdul Rahman, Mr Silat, is apparently and much to our amusement afraid of.

She bought one for herself, and another as a birthday present for Jie.

They go by the name of Master Oo Gui (from Kung Fu Panda) and Squirtle from Pokemon.

We took them out of their "house" to let them run free that night.

This is Master Oo Gui. The most active among the two.

This little green speed devil ran all the way from the living room to our shoe rack and got stuck there, while the other one stoned and hid inside his shell.

Whatchu' want huh??

Last night Kautsar moved them from into a bigger house.

From the round thing on the left to the huge container on the right.

She calls it a bungalow.

They moved on the basis that their little house was too small and they did not have enough space to move around.

Spoilt brats...

Little critters lazing around

Before they moved, they kept clawing at the walls of the container, in vain attempt to escape.

Now that they have a bigger space with white pebbles to sit on, they refuse to budge.

As long as I do not have to clean and feed them, I am totally cool with my new housemates. Haha the little things that my friends take delight in...

BBQ Sheep

At long last, we finally had the BBQ party at my place in Sterling. Haha and in record time. I was hoping to do it before Sheep United multiplied. It was suppose to be one of the last things we get to do together as a cell before we split.

It was a potbless, and each member was encouraged to bring a friend along. Thus, we had plenty of food (leftovers!) and a lot of new faces as well.

Many thanks to Quan, Christy, Melody, Randy, Andrew, James and the others for helping me to settle everything else. All I had to do was book the place, and everyone else did the rest.

Nevertheless, I did not want to just go and wallop other people punya food, so I decided to make kek batik! Ok, I did not actually make it myself. I assisted Syhu in the kitchen. Hehe thanks babe :)

The making of kek batik was not the only action my kitchen went through. Andrew and Beatrice borrowed my place to make fruit jelly, mainly because I have a fridge. So they were the first to arrive at 4 something pm.

The jelly makers

Really sweet kek batik and jelly. Sheep United is in for diabetis I tell you! Haha

After the UM kids arrived one hour later, we proceeded to setting up the place. The boys did all the work, while the girls chillaxed

My The tukang cuci

Yee Shien, Fiona and Edna playing around

I exercised before the BBQ to compensate for all the fatness that is about to enter my mouth. Haha I ran up and down to let all the drivers in and made sure they parked at the right spot.

The night kicked off just like any one of our regular cell night. With a quick round of introduction, and ice-breakers!

Introducing the person to your right. Rachel and Clarice

For some reason, Andrew enjoys making the cell guess movie titles. This time round, he stuck a movie title on our backs, and we are suppose to go around asking "yes" or "no" questions and try to figure it out.

Melody and Mission Impossible!

Quickie: Mine was Robin Hood. Robin Hood does not have magical powers la people! Kristie still could not figure out what hers was at the end of the game. Joe got The Princess and the Frog hahaha. Some of us cheated :p

This was part of our dinner that night.

We had chicken, sausages, marshmallow, sotong balls (mo haaaa). We also had fried rice that Shin Yi bought, and also fried bee hoon by Josh. No he bought it. Haha Thanks to Randy and Christy for supplying the drinks :)

Many many thanks to Joe, Quan, Leonard, my apprentice Eliz and the others for maning the grill. Andrew actually felt quilty about skewing the chickens and then putting them on the grill. Haha

Despite our prayers for it to not rain, it did. Thank God I booked the pit where all the chairs, tables and umbrellas were. So we opened up one of those huge stand umbrellas and put it over the pit and saved our food!

I honestly felt that the rain was God sent. It made everyone huddle under the umbrella and basically forced us to spend time together. If it did not rain, I can already picture the scenario. One group will be by the pool, another at the playground. Everyone all scattered around, no fun right? So the rain did us real good in bringing everyone together to fellowship. A real blessing in disguise.

Quan, Beatrice, Yee Shien and Edna

Josh, Andrew and John

Randy: FEEED ME!!!! NGAUM!!!!

Beatrice, Kristie, Edna, tin-eyed Leonard, Eliz and Joanne

My favourite chef. Simply because he refered to me as "My Queen" hahaha :p

Thanks Yee Shien for helping to wash up

Unfortunately, we had to clear up by 10pm because I booked the place from 6pm-10pm, and as we were nearing the time, we were not done yet. And we have not had our desserts yet!

Fortunately, James suggested that we shifted the party to his place where we shall feast on jelly, brownies and kek batik.

And... fortunately, his place was really near mine, so we were all there in no time :)

Enjoying the kek batik!!

The second round of games started once everyone settled down. We played Werewolves!

It is a different version of Mafia. Same concept, but slightly different rules.

Melody explaining the rules

Shin Yi defending herself

Voting out the werewolves

This round was historical for Josh because this is the only round where he did not get killed of early in the game. Haha

The night ended with a family picture (its with James) and they gave us our multiplication invitation that the core have been working so hard on.

Our agreeable sheep invitations

All in all, it was a fun night. Tiring yes, but I would not mind doing it all over again :)

The Bougainvillea

To that one sweet flower that we all know and love.

The tough cookie.

The gangster.

The good friend.

The unbiased one.

The strong support.

The caring soul.

The wise adviser.

The housemate.

The Chek Sack.

The Jie Jie.

The special one.

The one that we can never manage without throughout this past 1.5 years.

Bougainvillea in orange

Happy birthday Jie!

Love you loads. Thanks for always being there for me, and the rest of us :)

Woohoo!

Now I remember what I wanted to say.

DROP WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING AND GO WATCH 大日子 woohoo!!!

No, not Homer J Simpson Woo Hoo...

This Woohoo! (tiger dance)

"Synopsis: 'Woohoo' (tiger dance) is a tradition practiced in a small village (Beserah, Kuantan) during a prayer ceremony every 60 years. As the only elder who knows "Woohoo" can no longer perform, his filial granddaughter put up a misleading advertisement which in turn attracts five youngsters from different backgrounds - bad-tempered bank security man Ah Beng, indecisive Char Kuey Teow hawker Ah Huat, effeminate designer Rain, university student Bobby and smart alec Alan - to be trained as 'woohoo' players. After some tough training, they finally look like a formidable team. However, few days before the anticipated festival day, the only 'tiger head' is accidentally destroyed by the mischievous kids in the village"

There. A brief synopsis that I ripped off GSC.

I know I know. Malaysian movie. I can pretty much guess your reaction now.

But honestly Woohoo is not bad. Quite good for a Malaysian film. Plenty of humour and a few heart-warming scenes as well.

12 of us from cell went to watch the movie last Friday. Mainly because we wanted to support this fler here:

Yup that is Bernard Hiew! Some of you may know him from Astro AEC. He is also a Sheep United core leader, and took every opportunity to promote his movie last week. Haha all in fun though :)

Bernard on screen (Bobby) is so much like Bernard in real life, but whackier. Meaning to say that we had a really good laugh at the things he did on screen, but we know that he is not too shy to do it as well. Watch the movie and you will get what I mean. Hehe

Here are a couple of shots from the movie.

Woohoo Pix

Haha yup, I have been promoting this movie to my friends in KDU. And now I change my target to my blog readers muahaha...

Ok now bring all of your friends to go watch Woohoo!

Flora Sterling

Due to the heavy rain we have been experiencing, it would appear that Sterling now has a bunch of lovely flowers growing in their backyard.

Or rather, INSIDE the units.

Allow me to introduce, the plant people.

This is the pioneer. The first of our kind.

Fatin

Bunga Sity Orked

And the other bunga from 18th floor.

Wadhi

Bunga Wadhi Teratai

Chia Sin

Bunga Chia Sin Tulip

Nipa

Bunga Nipaporn Jasmine

Xian Jun

Bunga Xian Jun hyacinth

We also had a flower that bloomed on the 5th floor as well

Yvonne

Bunga Yvonne Matahari

It even rain all the way in Negeri Sembilan, and something lovely blossomed there as well

Zan Zahidah

Bunga Zahidah Sakura

My unit was not spared from this phenomenon!

Haliq

Bunga Haliq Exora

And last but not least, me!

Unfortunately I did not blossom into a flower. My growth went into a different direction compared to the other girls.

Sherene

Daun Sherene Pisang

Hahahahaha

Why Daun Pisang you ask?
Because my dad grows bananas in his farm.
Hehe no la.

Fatin was the very first to change her name.

I was being mischevious that night and I wrote on her facebook wall, saying that I wanted to change my name too. To Daun Sherene Pisang. Pun haha

I did not go for Bunga because I was thinking of an antonym for bunga, so daun came into mind. And pisang for fun.

Then Yvonne wanted to change as well.

And then the rest followed.

Haha

Crazy?

Yes, this is what happens when your college puts you through exams on the first week it re-opens!
