I was busy doing my scrap page last night when I received a text from Arsyad:

Asyad: Wad u havin for dinner?

Me: I ate dy (knowing that he was prob goin to invite me for dinner with him and Zul)

Then I received another text from him about dinner again. As usual, I replied. And the sms went back and forth about eating and dieting and what not.

Then, all of a sudden, I received this text from him:

My response in a very cool manner was:

Seconds later a reply came in...

As I was happily typing away, two guys from KDU came in to install and configure the wireless :p That explains why I could not connect via wireless. All this while I have been using Zul's LAN cable to connect. Hehe


Anyway, as I was saying, I have been experiencing very good connection. I can even upload and download videos from youtube, but limewire not working. I suppose it is fast enough because I am the only person in the house using the internet :) So when the rest of them get back this weekend, connection might be slow -_-"

I Have Chemistry Today :(

Yes yes I know that I said you would not hear from me this week. But thanks to Mr George, chemistry classes are still on because “we are sitting for AS with an incomplete syllabus!!” So I take this opportunity to go online here in the library.

Last Saturday KDU PARTS performed during MoliCafe’s first anniversary in Times Square. Even though preparing for this event was mentally killing me and in its own way very stressful (because of the whole guitar issue), but alls well ends well, all thanks to Matthew O. Bin Han! It was so much fun practising with him and performing with him! With his help, the three of us learned a new song (Seasons of Love) in two hours, a day before the event. What was meant to be a choir song, he managed to work out the whole song to be suited for three people! He was very patient with us and very encouraging. Plus he said Jeslyn and I are rare singers! How cool is that? Hehe.

Owh did I mention that he has the best voice I have ever heard in my entire life? Hmm how good is he you ask? Try deep like Elvis Presley, and high like Ewan McGregor! Swoon ladies swoon :)

Jeslyn and I had a lot of fun singing with him and hopefully there will be another time in the near future where we are able to sing together again. MKM maybe? Hehe

Sadly the crowd in MoliCafe was not as responsive as we hoped, well actually they did respond. Just in a way that disgusted us and is prove as to why the music industry in Malaysia does not prosper. But what do you expect from this group of people? Get a life…

I met Badaq, Jon and the bunny for dinner on Sunday night. I am very pleased to announce that I am practising my sarcasm on Wilson and it is giving him nightmares. Yay!! He says my mouth is like a dagger and that I am impossible. Well I am only that way towards him because he is very annoying, plus it is fun to mess with him. He says that Badaq and I are the only girls that do not laugh at his jokes. Erm that is because his jokes are not funny and the other girls laugh because they feel sorry for him. Yes I told him that. Yes he agrees with me. Uh huh…

Wilson also thinks that he is my dad. He only allows me to go out once a week and only for two hours. And I am not allowed to go out with guys as well. He said next time he is going to allow his daughter to go out for half an hour only. Uh huh…He also tried to kill himself by drinking tobasco sauce to make his condition worst so that he can get MC for Monday, but minutes later decided that he wants to go to work. Uh huh…

Wilson means the great protector. Is he living up to that name? Yes. Who is he protecting? Himself. Uh huh…

Pa came over to KL and we went out to Sogo and he bought me a bottle of Burberry!! Whee I am so happy :p

Singing in Times Square this Saturday. No guitarist + Matthew in Singapore = we're screwed... BUT Bin Han is coming over to help us. Yay...

SAT classes starts in April. Exam in August. I tried 5 SAT questions the other day (the english test), and I got all wrong. Wonderful :p

To the losers people who did not go for our pre-u production that we have been working our asses off for, hehe you have no idea what you were missing out on. Love = tan 90° rocked! All seats were filled, we had a surprisingly great response from the crowd, not to mention the feedback we received before and after the play.

Our trainer, Mr AD brought his theatre activist friends to watch one of our full-dress rehearsals and they said we were very impressive for a bunch of amateur actors and actresses that has been working on the play for less then 2 months. Kekeke

Yes we have all worked very hard for this play till we were at times overly frustrated. So far, we had a bunch of sick people with coughs, fevers and flu, and two injured legs, and a whole lot of emotional distress. The ironic thing is, the more we did the rehearsals and the less passion we had to do them properly, the more Mr Jaya complimented us saying that we keep improving! Er, ok…

There were a few times when the audience gave the oddest response in certain scenes. Honestly, what the heck is wrong with you all? What is so funny about Adam confessing his love for Maya? Or when Paul is dying? Or the line, “Good boy…” ? Dudes, seriously!! It has always been like that. They will laugh at something that is not funny to us, and when it comes to an actual joke, there is nothing but silence on their end!

To Ms Sathya and Ms Hema, thank you guys so much for all your help and support. This would not be possible if not for the both of you. Not forgetting of course Mr Alex and Mr Jaya who are always there to comment and assist. Thank you Mr AD for helping us with our production. You have been a major help to all of us. And of course Brandon, Samantha and Sabrina, our wonderful choreographers. The three of you helped turn our two left feet into dancing feet and made the play all the more interesting.

Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical

Yesterday, 7 of us made a mad dash to Istana Budaya from college to watch Puteri Gunung Ledang. With about 30 minutes left till the show started, I tell you, I tekanan jiwa throughout the entire journey! Because IF we are late, they will only let us in during intermission. WTH! That is halfway through the show!! But luckily we made it just in time before they locked the doors.

How was the show? Well, when you pay RM87 to watch the show, you expect something great right?

Sorry to say that great was not the right word to describe the whole production.

PGL the musical season 3 was SPECTACULAR!!! It was the most AMAZING thing I have ever seen in my entire life! Throughout the whole show, I felt like a little kid opening her present on Christmas day! It was WOW!!

I absolutely LOVE their dances and their singing. It was live singing if I am not mistaken. They even used projection and the orchestra was awesome! My favourite part is when there is a big crowd and everyone on stage is singing and dancing. I am just lost for words. It was amazing! It was breathtaking. Did I mention that it was amazing and spectacular??

They had minimum props on stage, so it was easy to change from one scene to another. And they never turn off the lights. They had 6 big steps thingy where they used it for almost every scene. Turn it around and you get a mountain. Turn it again and you get Majapahit's market place. Spin it around again you'll get something else! One of the coolest props is the big ship. Yes, you did not read wrong. They actually had a ship on stage!!

A big ship!!! It moved all over the stage!! We were awed..

When I texted Ms Hema about the ship, she got confused and thought that I was saying that we are going to have a big ship on stage in our play! Hehe

The play was in Jawa and Malay. For those that do not understand those languages, they had two screens on the right and left side of the hall that showed the subtitles in English. Genius I tell you.

Even though the play had a traditional setting, you can see modern influence in the play in some of the choreography. Especially Sultan Mahmud when he was grooving to the music. It was so adorable!

Even though the main theme of the play is love, PGL had other elements as well. You have humour, a lot of it might I add. There is also some silat action in there.

Casting was amazing. Stephan Rahman Hughes (Hang Tuah) was amazing. He held a note for almost 10 seconds (I think)!! I love Ida Mariana (Bayan). Her voice was amazing during the chanting scene. It can give you goosebumps! Very mystical and voodoo-ish. AC Mizal (Adipati) was scary! A total Java king if you asked me.

One of the things that made this play so incredibly amazing and special was the dancing and singing. Even the minor characters and extras were awesome singers and dancers. Which is why I love it when there is a crowd on stage. There were a few scenes when they made people disappear, and of course Bayan's voodoo thingy where she made something float.

The curtain call was fun as well. All the extras and minor characters got their respective round of cheers and applause. All the cast involved came out and did their own thing! Stephan, AC Mizal and Adlin did a few breakdance move and the crowd went crazy! They all got standing ovation!! I claped till my arms hurt. Chad wanted to stand on the ledge when Tiara came out. Jeez, mat poyo...

I find it better than any movie I have ever watched before in cinemas or at home. In movies, everything is there. You want a mountain, you get an actual mountain. Need a dark forest, its there for you. The actual things as we know and see everyday. But in PGL, the thing that made it better than movies, IMHO, is not what the producers or cast or crew can do. It is all up to the audience. And that thing is your imagination. Priceless.

Honestly I can crap all day, but none of my words can ever describe to you how amazing PGL was! The tickets originally cost Rm123, but I got them for RM87 only. Student price. I must say though, even if I have to pay RM200 to watch that show, it is worth every single penny.

4 of us had to skip class just to watch the play. 3 of us had to pay Rm30 for the cab ride, which was double the actual price. But at the end of the day, none of us complained. It was all worth it. We had no regrets, whatsoever :)
