BBQ Sheep

At long last, we finally had the BBQ party at my place in Sterling. Haha and in record time. I was hoping to do it before Sheep United multiplied. It was suppose to be one of the last things we get to do together as a cell before we split.

It was a potbless, and each member was encouraged to bring a friend along. Thus, we had plenty of food (leftovers!) and a lot of new faces as well.

Many thanks to Quan, Christy, Melody, Randy, Andrew, James and the others for helping me to settle everything else. All I had to do was book the place, and everyone else did the rest.

Nevertheless, I did not want to just go and wallop other people punya food, so I decided to make kek batik! Ok, I did not actually make it myself. I assisted Syhu in the kitchen. Hehe thanks babe :)

The making of kek batik was not the only action my kitchen went through. Andrew and Beatrice borrowed my place to make fruit jelly, mainly because I have a fridge. So they were the first to arrive at 4 something pm.

The jelly makers

Really sweet kek batik and jelly. Sheep United is in for diabetis I tell you! Haha

After the UM kids arrived one hour later, we proceeded to setting up the place. The boys did all the work, while the girls chillaxed

I exercised before the BBQ to compensate for all the fatness that is about to enter my mouth. Haha I ran up and down to let all the drivers in and made sure they parked at the right spot.

The night kicked off just like any one of our regular cell night. With a quick round of introduction, and ice-breakers!

Introducing the person to your right. Rachel and Clarice

For some reason, Andrew enjoys making the cell guess movie titles. This time round, he stuck a movie title on our backs, and we are suppose to go around asking "yes" or "no" questions and try to figure it out.

Melody and Mission Impossible!

Quickie: Mine was Robin Hood. Robin Hood does not have magical powers la people! Kristie still could not figure out what hers was at the end of the game. Joe got The Princess and the Frog hahaha. Some of us cheated :p

This was part of our dinner that night.

We had chicken, sausages, marshmallow, sotong balls (mo haaaa). We also had fried rice that Shin Yi bought, and also fried bee hoon by Josh. No he bought it. Haha Thanks to Randy and Christy for supplying the drinks :)

Many many thanks to Joe, Quan, Leonard, my apprentice Eliz and the others for maning the grill. Andrew actually felt quilty about skewing the chickens and then putting them on the grill. Haha

Despite our prayers for it to not rain, it did. Thank God I booked the pit where all the chairs, tables and umbrellas were. So we opened up one of those huge stand umbrellas and put it over the pit and saved our food!

I honestly felt that the rain was God sent. It made everyone huddle under the umbrella and basically forced us to spend time together. If it did not rain, I can already picture the scenario. One group will be by the pool, another at the playground. Everyone all scattered around, no fun right? So the rain did us real good in bringing everyone together to fellowship. A real blessing in disguise.

Randy: FEEED ME!!!! NGAUM!!!!

Beatrice, Kristie, Edna, tin-eyed Leonard, Eliz and Joanne

My favourite chef. Simply because he refered to me as "My Queen" hahaha :p

Thanks Yee Shien for helping to wash up

Unfortunately, we had to clear up by 10pm because I booked the place from 6pm-10pm, and as we were nearing the time, we were not done yet. And we have not had our desserts yet!

Fortunately, James suggested that we shifted the party to his place where we shall feast on jelly, brownies and kek batik.

And... fortunately, his place was really near mine, so we were all there in no time :)

Enjoying the kek batik!!

The second round of games started once everyone settled down. We played Werewolves!

It is a different version of Mafia. Same concept, but slightly different rules.

Melody explaining the rules

Shin Yi defending herself

Voting out the werewolves

This round was historical for Josh because this is the only round where he did not get killed of early in the game. Haha

The night ended with a family picture (its with James) and they gave us our multiplication invitation that the core have been working so hard on.

Our agreeable sheep invitations

All in all, it was a fun night. Tiring yes, but I would not mind doing it all over again :)
