Whats The Rush?

They were not kidding when they called it the "Couzmazing Race".

Couzmazing Race was another crazy but fun Couz event. Ever heard of Amazing Race? Well, that is exactly what Couzmazing Race is all about, except that we did not have to fly out of the country.

Ok it is not exactly alike. But similar in some areas.

The rules were simple. We are not allowed to drive ourselves around or call other people to bring us about, must take public transport, and no calling other people for help. However, we are allowed to ask pedestrians or random people for help while at respective locations. And we were also not allowed to sabotage other teams by hiding the clues and what not. Lolz

The organisers dressed in red

Each team consisting of four people was given RM20 to spend on whatever is necessary. We are allowed to spend more, but that will have to come out from our own pockets.

The race started at 12.40pm in SIB KL 4th floor, where each team was given an envelope that contains clues as to where the next location should be. There were 4 different locations that we had to go to complete every task given. But not every team went to the same location at the same time.

The other teams

In each envelope, there are two pieces of paper. In the first piece, there are a series of questions that we have to answer and to fill in the box given by the side of the questions. Then we have to unscramble the letters in the shaded boxes to figure out our next location.

In the second piece, there were a few series of questions and task that we had to complete to gain points.

The series of questions that made us run amuck in Pavillion. But thank God for directories!

Unlike the Amazing Race, Couzmazing Race was all about points. Each task and question have points, and even though you arrived back in church first, it does not mean that you have won. Owh, and minus points for every minute that you are late. Haha

I joined Andrew, Joshua and Beatrice, and together we were group 10. Our team name? Whats The Rush? Hahah cute le...

Are you guys ready to rock??? Eh whats the rush neh.... selamba je....

We were the last team to leave church because the location question was tough. But many thanks to a certain someone, and we managed to figure out that our first location was KLCC.

My team's route was:
SIB KL - KLCC - Pavillion - Bukit Bintang (Sg Wang, Lot 10 and Low Yat) - Masjid Jamek - SIB KL.

We took cab every single round, and only took the LRT once on the way to KLCC. Tough and quick decisions had to be made! Haha total cost that we spent was about RM80.

KLCC was the worst run ever. From ground floor all the way up to the fourth floor, then inside Konikuya, then dashed to the fountain, and then back to the ground floor, and then the third floor again, then outside of KLCC to RHB Bank, and not forgetting to the Aquaria and back again. Back and forth here and there. And the worst part was, there was a typo in one of the questions -____________________-

Lets get going guys!

Figuring out the puzzle

On location in Bukit Bintang

After completing all questions and tasks at each location, we were to go to a designated spot to meet one of the organisers and pass up the questions and answers and receive another envelope to our next location. Melody did a really good job of hiding herself in Pavillion. We crossed the entire food court and still could not find her! And I bet James was super comfortable in Coffee Bean in Low Yat.

There were a few crazy things that we had to do. We had to take funny pictures in KLCC, and also in one of those lala-photo booths.

Trust me, the guys were a lot more lala than Beatrice and I....

Yes, it was one of the task that we had to do. Imagine how embaressing it must be for team LARR (Randy and Ronald's team. Get his to pronounce it to you. It will crack you up) that consisted of four guys! Haha I do not think that they would ever show us the pictures that they took. Randy wanted to stick the pictures in his car, but his friend Alan threatened to burn the car down. Haha so I am guessing that the pictures that they took must have been very lala. Lolz

Another thing that we had to do was an option between running all the way uphill to St. John school and face the risk of getting lost or to get one of the team members to do a henna.

Guess which one we opted for...

Thats my hand btw

Duh...
Masjid Jamek was the hardest in terms of questions as none of us were familiar with that area. Pavillion was the easiest. A big thank you to those who brought me to Pavillion to go window shopping because it helped alot in terms of being familiar with the place. Hehe

All teams were suppose arrive in SIB KL at 6.20pm. We arrived 7 minutes late, and I was rather surprised that we were the fourth team to arrive. We thought that everyone else had made it back already.

To our pleasant surprise, dinner was ready when we arrived. That definitely relieved my three teammates that had nothing to eat before the race.

Beatrice enjoying her meal

After dinner, they announced the winners of the race. And guess what Whats The Rush? won...

We got second place!

LARR came in third and won RM100.

The first team won RM300. I heard that they spent over RM100 during the entire course of the race and were armed and geared with all sorts of gadgets that assisted them during the race. Man, they were really set out to win! Haha

During the race, we were slightly discouraged because everything was so hectic and seemed impossible to complete. But we all agreed that were here to have fun, and it does not matter if we win or lose. One of the best part about this was that no one lost their temper or got mad at each other. Thats what happens when Sheep work together :)

The Couzmazing Race is definitely one of my most favourite experience. I had huge amounts of fun running wild in KL, literally. And it was good bonding time for the four of us.

All of you out there, if there is to be another Couzmazing Race next year, sign up and join in the fun! I promise you this, you will not regret it!
