Ok, I might be exaggerating a little bit here, but I am definitely sure that most of my friends here are
SORRY GUYS if I have not been messaging you, or spamming your blogs, or bugging you in either friendster or face book (ok ok, I actually DID all that, but I’m trying to sound like a busy person here!! Give me a break!!)
For the past two or three days, and for some poor souls, nights, we had our hands tied with the Kebudayaan Competition thingy in the club that we were *chokes* kindly, sweetly and cheerfully invited to join (OMG I am sooooo dead if any of the seniors read my blog!!!), that is the Malay Cultural Society, or MCS for short. MCS organised an interschool competition, just like what Swinburne in Kuching did for the Debate Competition, but on a much smaller scale.
Anyway, that was not the only thing that I was preoccupied with. It was this,
Nooo I was not busy EATING them… I was busy MAKING them!!
*sees people fainting in front of the computer*
Yes people (especially members of my beloved and eternally whacky family), I MADE popiahs. Me, a person who enters the kitchen at home to actually cook once in a blue moon. The reason for this “shocking” activity of mine is to raise fund for MCS. My seniors, Wendin, Syamil and Farah were super sweet enough to call Yvonne, Alep and I to lend them three pairs of helping hands with their little project.
So after class on Wednesday, we went over to KEPOH Kondo Pelangi Utama where they were staying to start making the yummy yummy food that I am allergic to *wide-eye emoticon*
While the three of us were
The end result, it was delicious!!! Well, according to them it was…
The next day, we fatiguely dragged ourselves out of bed. Although my bed was calling me back to it, I had no choice but to deny it, sobzz sobzz
Anyway the whole competition went rather well, if not for a few minor quirks and flaws. For example, the schools for some reason were very tardy and thus, the whole program started half an hour late. And we ushers got completely different instructions from the seniors which caused us to go about in a mad panic as we dare not piss them off (I have a feeling that it would be disastrous if we were to ever cross them).
*clears throats*
Plus, the competition results were terrible!! It was biased!! It was horrific!! It was equivalent to Simon actually sincerely praising WILLIAM FREAKIN’ HUNG on his singing ability!!
Here is a picture of the horrible people that allowed icky performers to win first price:
LOLZ just kidding!!
That was just us fooling around in the auditorium before everything started!! Right Yvonne?? Kekeke
Anyhoo, waiting for the very tardy secondary schools was boring. This is what we did to kill time:
Jie Jie and I. And Alep's hand too. Wen Chiat with his funny funny pose at the back... Kekeke
Susan and I. Crap, she is soooo tall!!
Ushers!! Zan, Yvonne, me, June, Pei Jin and Susan
Ushering was quite fun. You get to boss little kids around, and they have no choice but to follow your every instruction!! Woohoo!! But seriously, that was not the reason I chose ushering. Yvonne, Derek and Rashad were the ones who wanted it because they thought it was easy-peasy as they assume that it only requires us to stand in one spot and point people towards the direction of the auditorium (Kakaka they were wrong!!). Sheesh, lazy bunch of --
Oh erm, anyway, so during the MCS meeting, they were hastily raising their hands to volunteer for it and so I just follow suit.
What what what???? My friends were joining it,
Since the school that I was in charge of, St Mary, had only one performance which was the Dikir Barat, I scurried off to help Wendin, Syamil and Farah at the booth after leaving the school girls in the auditorium.
They left to sell the popiahs and nasi lemaks outside, leaving Jie, Jie, Wen Chiat, John and I to man (or wo-man) the booth. We tried our very best to sell off everything. Once again, I found myself
Sighzz, there goes my voice again!! Yes, it is still sexy and nasally, and though Yvonne and Jie Jie likes it (SADDIST!!!! Enjoying my pain and misery!! Boohoo), I miss my old voice!! Not being able to sing is like, TORTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Ok, I digressed. At the end of the day, we managed to sell EVERYTHING OFF!!! All the nasi lemak and popiahs that Wendin, Syamil and Farah left for us was sold out!! Woohoo!!! Big accomplishment here for us juniors!! Oh yeah, we rock!!
Yeah see, this is what happens when you are nice to little kids that you are baby-sitting. They will buy popiahs from you and insist on you keeping the change!!
XD
